Artistic Plating is a leading supplier of critical plate-to-gauge bearing plating services across a wide range of industries.  We understand the demanding finishing requirements of bearings and are experts at the intensive RMS requirements, dimensional inspections and selective plating requirements that are essential to provide bearing plating services for even the most challenging application.

Bearing Plating Services – Bearing Materials

Various substrate materials are used in the fabrication of low, medium and high load bearings.  Artistic Plating offers bearing plating services on nearly any substrate used in the fabrication of bearings including leaded brass and bearing bronze, aluminum alloys, stainless steel, tool steel, as well as brazed, babbitted or multi-layer combinations of bearing materials.

In addition to working with various bearing substrate materials Artistic Plating offers a full line of plating layers and can provide multiple finish combinations in concurrence with your needs.  If a special alloy of plated layer is required – Artistic Plating can source it.  Exotic combinations of tin, lead, copper, indium and silver have been provided based upon the specific application of bearing plating services.

Bearing Plating Services – Selective Bearing Plating

Many applications of bearing plating services require selective plating methods due to the heavy build of the plated layer.  Artistic offers a wide range of masking techniques to fulfill even the most demanding selective bearing plating application including liquid apply masks, UV cure masks, mating components or fasteners, custom die-cut tapes, standard silicon masks and custom molded masks.  Where most job shops shy away from the engineering demands of selective bearing plating services – Artistic welcomes the opportunity to provide the solution.

Bearing Plating Services – Plate-to-Gauge Requirements

Plating to a final dimension is the single most critical aspect of bearing plating services.  Artistic Plating’s quality and engineering teams provide a full range of dimensional inspections on all bearings plated.  Critical pre and post-plate dimensions as well as specific inspection methods are documented within the detailed finishing protocol.  All bearings go through a customized receiving inspection protocol for dimensional verification prior to release to the plating line.  Multiple measurements of a statistically relevantsample set are made during the plating process to ensure each lot of parts meets the final plate-to dimensions. 

Artistic Plating has a wide range of internal and external micrometers to verify plate-to dimensions in bearing plating services.  Application-specific gauges such as Sunnen and digital bore micrometers are used as needed to ensure bearings meet print specifications.  Our quality and engineering teams are trained in repeatability and reliability methods (R&R) to give you confidence in our bearing plating services.
